My sister visited us for two weeks. We went for a swim in the ocean on her very first day and I showed her all sorts of places I love and treasure here. Of course the time went by super quickly and I wish she could have stayed longer. I took this snap on a sunny afternoon in our apartment while she was reading. It is the good moments which matter.

We are getting ready for our trip to New Zealand next week. If you have any recommendations for the South island, please let me know :)

A walk

The other Saturday I went for a walk. The sun was shining and it was really quiet warm for an early Spring day. The streets were empty, the red bottle brushes were glowing in the sun, the cats were sun bathing in front of the front doors and music was coming through open windows of the people's houses who live in that neighbourhood. I remember coming home from this walk very happy that is probably also why I am so very fond of the photos I took then.

I just used one of the many true-random-number-tools to get a winner for the give-away a print from my print shop.

Aaaaand the winner for a 12x18 print is Jess, I spontaneously decided to use the tool again for a 8x12 print and Tine won this one. :)

Light leak

Sometimes when I pick up a roll of film from the lab and I look at the thumbnails overview to get an idea of the results it happens that I can already see some light leaks on a few images. It can make me nervous if a capture I looked forward to seeing could be 'trumped' by a leak. However, sometimes the leaks just turn out so nicely and make the photo even more special as the story I wanted to tell you can't see properly and your own imagination will start wondering what you see.

A few things I am excited about...

> Today as I took the day off to spend the whole day with my sister who is visiting
> Elizabeth's new knitted pieces
> The new Arcade Fire album Reflektor which will get released soon
