Auckland, New Zealand
In early June we went back to New Zealand. You might remember our first trip to the South Island in October last year. This time our plan was to explore the North Island for a bit longer than a week. We flew into Auckland to spend a few days there, to catch up with a friend we haven't seen in almost 10 years and to just explore the city . We could have spend so much longer here and there are so many great outdoor activities which you can do just outside the city which means we have to come back with a bit more time.
Here are a few photos from our first days. We had breakfast (twice) at the wonderful Good One cafe in Ponsonby, which is a lovely neighbourhood with lots of great shops, cafes & restaurants. We went up to Mt Eden and looked over the city and walked around the big crater.

Happy Weekend!
Happy weekend my friends.
Its going to be a gorgeous Winter weekend with crisp cool air, sun & blue skies. Winter is so special here in Sydney and I look forward to meeting friends later on, reading a bit and taking some photos of those long Winter shades we have here :)
I also got my photos back from our trip to New Zealand and I will start posting some of them over the next weeks.
I updated the print shop last week. Have a look if you like and let me know what you think.
Have a great one,
Maria

Beautiful Pottery by Pippin Drysdale
On my last visit to Perth I was very lucky to visit Pippin Drysdale in her house in Fremantle. I also had a few glimpses into her studio in which the most amazing, delicate and beautiful pots are getting thrown, fired & glazed.
Pip just had a show in Sydney and it was great to see all her wonderful pots there - some in groups and some just on their own, some small and others impressively big, but all in the most exquisite colours and fine-line-patterns.

I like walking
The other day I took the train to Marrickville and had a beautiful breakfast at Cornersmith. I think I would go there every weekend if we would only live closer.
That Saturday, I enjoyed not to speak much after a busy week at work, just to be on my own and walking all the way back from Marickville, home.
Here a few snaps from my walk

A day at the Northern beaches
A few months back I was lucky to have visitors from some dear friends from Germany. Nicole and her boyfriend spent two weeks in Sydney with us and while they were here we showed them around the city and our favourite spots. One weekend we went to the Northern beaches and enjoyed the blue of the sky & the water and just being at the seaside.

Alphabet Family Journal (Outtakes)
Months and months ago Luisa Brimble contacted me about an idea of hers - a dream to create a magazine, a magazine for families and she asked me if I'd like to contribute to it with some photos of artists' kitchens, just fitting to the first issue of the Alphabet Family Journal which is all about the letter 'A'. I didn't hear from her for a while but could see on the social networks how her dream slowly grew and took shape and how amazing it is when lots of people contribute (creatively but also financially) to make great things happen.
I am so happy to see my photos in the first issue of the Alphabeht Family Journal. When I got it my in my mail box the other week I sat down to look at it, I touched the wonderful paper, flicked through some of the first pages to find myself reading in it right away. It is such a wonderful magazine and I am proud to be part of it. Congratulations to Luisa, who made her dream come true and also to Mel, Alex, Laura & Elizabeth for letting me take photos of their wonderful homes & studios.
Above you can see a few outtakes of my contribution.
You can have a look at a few pages of the magazine on Broadsheet. Elize took some photos of Mel and I while we had a flick through the magazine last Sunday.
