I am very happy to be part of the new issue of the Weekender magazine which came out a few weeks ago. It is such a wonderful and special publication and I feel every time honoured when the guys ask me to contribute. This time you will find an interview and photos I took of the talented Elizabeth Rayman Yong from the wonderful label Primoeza.
While I took the photos I was lucky to get a sneak peak into the pieces of her new collection and I am very excited for her to launch the new collection very soon. You can already have a look on her website and check out the photos Brian W. Ferry took of Elizabeth's latest designs.

Have fun!

Months and months ago Luisa Brimble contacted me about an idea of hers - a dream to create a magazine, a magazine for families and she asked me if I'd like to contribute to it with some photos of artists' kitchens, just fitting to the first issue of the Alphabet Family Journal which is all about the letter 'A'. I didn't hear from her for a while but could see on the social networks how her dream slowly grew and took shape and how amazing it is when lots of people contribute (creatively but also financially) to make great things happen.
I am so happy to see my photos in the first issue of the Alphabeht Family Journal. When I got it my in my mail box the other week I sat down to look at it, I touched the wonderful paper, flicked through some of the first pages to find myself reading in it right away. It is such a wonderful magazine and I am proud to be part of it. Congratulations to Luisa, who made her dream come true and also to Mel, Alex, Laura & Elizabeth for letting me take photos of their wonderful homes & studios.

Above you can see a few outtakes of my contribution.

You can have a look at a few pages of the magazine on Broadsheet. Elize took some photos of Mel and I while we had a flick through the magazine last Sunday.

Swimming in Pools

Whylies Baths Sydney

Those of you who have read this blog for a while, know that I am a big fan of good magazines.

I am very excited to announce that one of my favourites (The Weekender) has chosen some
of my photos of outdoor pools here in Sydney for their upcoming issue.

While it is not released until this Wednesday, January 16th, I thought I would give you a
sneak peak with this photo of what my beach side excursions looked like.

Do you like good magazines?

On the road - Win a magazine

I am just getting ready to fly home to Germany for a week and while packing my bag I had an idea....

It is sometimes so hard to get your hands on a good magazine from abroad especially when the postal fees are sometimes even more expensive then the magazine itself.

I will bring one of the latest Frankie issue with me to Germany to send to anyone in Europe or elsewhere and in exchange I will bring back the Weekender for a lucky winner here in Australia :)
What do you think about this idea?

Just leave a comment below and tell me if you live in Australia or the rest of the world so I can choose two lucky winners ...

Have a great weekend

With all the beautiful magazines and publications around I always try to buy those magazines which I want keep and treasure to go back for inspiration or simply to look over and over the images or illustrations in them. COS publishes a wonderful magazine and the new issue is stunning, lots of black and white photographs, detailed illustrations, geographic shapes which fit perfectly to their clothes. Image four (on the left) makes me want to cut my hair shorter again....
You can find more images and articles of the new issue here.

Two sisters

Two Sister - frankie magazine

Two Sister - frankie magazine

I think some of you might know that I am a big fan of the frankie magazine.
This magazine is just so beautifully made, has fun articles and most of all it sometimes seems to me like a wonderful photo album with all the wonderful photos in it.

It makes me so happy when I come home from a long day and open the mail box and find snail mail from a friend, something I ordered or frankie in it . When I got the latest issue last week it really made my day. I was sitting down instantly and flicked through the magazine and my eyes caught this beautiful article about two sisters sharing their lives and everything else together. The images are taken by Nadia Sablin and I think she captured so many wonderful moments of their way of living together. How beautiful is the picture them sitting over a crossword puzzle...

I also wanted to thank you all for your wishes on my last post. I can't tell you how much they made me smile. You still have a couple of days to enter the give-away.

>> The luckiest girl of the week must have been Marion, she witnessed a secret concert of Feist in Paris. Her pictures show many wonderful moments of this evening.

A new magazine

Having lunch and reading in a new magazin\

I have heard of the new German magazine 'The Weekender' already a couple of weeks ago, however it took me quiet some time until I could actually hold a copy into my hands. I read that some people found many similarities to the wonderful 'apartamento' magazine. And I can partly see why, which is not a bad thing, I think.
After I was sitting down for lunch on Saturday I had the time to browse through the magazine. I liked the non-shiny paper a lot, the apartments they visit, the stories around the people who live there, the images and perspectives of what they show of the different spaces of living...

From an apartment in Berlin, a farm house somewhere in the south of Germany, to a massive shared apartment in New York to end at a house boat in Belgium ...

The 'Casual Friday' section in the magazine shows Sarah Illenberger in her studio in Berlin. I was writing about Sarah's amazing work here and was again just amazed by her great sense of creativity. How amazing is the raining melon 'Meloncholie'!

I hope you are having a wonderful week, here is a song which I can hardly get out of my head.

Thanks for your comments on my sea post. I will share the lemon cake recipe very soon with you.
