Italy - Venice I

Our trip to Italy was great. It is funny but it was my first real trip to Italy which for a German is a bit surprising as it is one of our number 1 travel destinations. I have only been once when I was 15 but this time we did quiet a tour and saw a lot. I would love to show you all the photos at once but I guess I have to go step by step....

Italy is such a wonderful country. I will probably say it in every post about this trip but the food we had was simply amazing. Tomatoes so red and sweet that all I wanted to eat all day was tomato salad but well there were of course also the pizzas, pastas, biscotti's, fruits gelati....you see, I could write about it for a long time.

The first couple of days we spent in Venice. Walking up and down the little bridges, eating ice cream, resting in parks, drinking a belini at Harry's bar and more walking, walking, walking....

You know the space already from a couple of prior posts. 
Above are moments from another Summer night back home, we made a great lentil soup with lots of herbs and veggies and had a great piece of Austrian hand made cheese for dessert. 

I landed in Sydney this morning. I have so many great memories from the last six weeks I and will be thinking about them a lot in the next weeks. It is a beautiful Winters day here today so I might go out for a walk now thinking about great Summer nights in beautiful gardens with great company....

Hamburg - A weekend

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments. We really had such a great day with wonderful people around us, good food and some boogies - just how we wanted it. When I started planning I decided somehow not to write so much about the wedding here as it sometimes took over so much of my time anyway with preparing, crafting and all these things. But maybe there will be some more photos in the next weeks....


My six weeks here in Europe are coming to an end and on Monday I will fly back to Sydney. The last two weeks we spent in Italy but more about this soon.

Hamburg - Café Johanna

The weekend in Hamburg went by so quickly, but I had a wonderful time catching up with lovely friends and places I miss. I was pressing my nose to the window of the train while entering Hamburg. It is so wonderful to get into the city like this, to see the harbor, the houses.....
One of the first stops on Friday was Cafe Johanna. Such a beautiful place. I like that it is located off the busy spots and that you can sit there for hours, eating good food and just enjoying yourself.

between - a Winter walk II

Some more photos of a long walk in Sydney Winter the other day. It is so interesting right now being back in Germany and in a different season to see the differences between the countries, the season, the light and the colors....


Life is good here, I am eating cherries, enjoying the sun and catching up with people. I am getting super excited about the weekend as I will go up to see friends in Hamburg. For those of you who follow this space for a while now know how much I loved to live in this beautiful city....Can't wait to go back.....
