100 and the first days

I just realized that my first post from Sydney is also my 100st post here on Schorlemädchen.
What a coincidence that with moving to Sydney and starting something totally new I also have a little anniversary to celebrate :)

When I started this little space last year in October I did not really know what exactly to write or to show and thought I just see how it goes....
And now it is so much fun to have this space to share images and bits of what I am doing or thinking or to go through the archive and seeing how seasons come and go...but also to read your wonderful comments and get inspirations of people who also share pictures, ideas ...or wonderful words

Of course I am sometimes wondering who might be all these people who stop by here.
So, if you want to say a little hi...I would be happy to read who you are and how you stumbled via this blog ... but just if you want to... : )

Here are also a few images of my first days in Sydney while walking through our neighbourhood, trying to get a bit of orientation on Sunday, and Surry Hills today. I stopped by the the pop-up-store of the Third Drawer Down and fall in love with this icelandic wool-blanket, oh my isn't it beautiful...

I am enjoying the blue sky I see right now when I look outside the window and hope Mr. Jetlag says goodbye very soon....

I hope you are well

The last days

I love bread with cucumber
The field next to my parents house
blueberries..my favorite berry
In my grandmothers garden
My grandmothers garden
in the garden
Our dog
A cup of tea
A cup of tea
In my aunties garden
In my aunties garden
My sister turned 17 today

I am back at my parents place since a couple of days and it feels really special ...
a bit like I moved back as all my stuff is now here and packed into shelves, closets or brought up to the attic...but also very much like I do things and see people the last time for a long time...It can be a weird feeling being in a farewell mood for a few weeks, sad because of goodbye hugs and chats but also really exciting when I think about everything which is waiting..
I am so glad that I could spend time with the people I care about so much...
and also do things at home I quiet like to do....

#1 enjoyed the fresh taste of a bread with butter and cucumber
#2 The wheat field right next to my parents house
#3 our neighbour is selling all sorts of berries and I love their blueberries. One day I couldn't help myself and ate one pound of them and also one pound of raspberries..Oh Summer!
#4/5/6 In my grandmothers garden...which is full of memories
#7 Our dog who likes to relax on the bench
#8/9 Some great green tea and a chat on a Summer evening
#10/11 In my auntie's garden
#12 My sister turned 17 today. We baked cakes for an afternoon tea this morning. There were some raspberries and blueberries involved : )

.....Next time when you read from me I will be in Sydney...

Take care

I can't ever come back, If I never go
I don't ever explain, if I never know
I won't ever take it, if I never give

Goodbye Hamburg

last coffee...
the blueberry pastry ritual came to an end...
Last time at the farmers market
cherries from the farmers market

last view out into the garden

My last days in Hamburg went by so quickly...and it was great to spend some good quality time with people who became so close to me over the last years living there...I am so lucky that I met them and it was not easy to say good-bye...

A few images of some "lasts" during the last days there...

#1 A good last coffee break between the crazy packing
#2 I enjoyed my last blueberry Franzbrötchen for probably quiet a while
#3/4 went the last time to the farmers market and bought veggies for our last dinner...but had the first cherries
#5 took the last shade image in our kitchen
#6 had the last view out into the garden...

Right now I am sitting between all these piles of things thinking how I should manage to just bring 23kg with me...and also thinking about all the new things which will happen soon...
It is all really exciting...
but nevertheless,
Hamburg I will miss you! It's been wonderful.

Street

I had nine images on my polaroid left...the film was already exired which you could tell on the spots in the images...

When I was packing my cameras together yesterday I realised that I still had 9 images on my polaroid camera left. We thought it would be nice to take a few images in the street right in front of the house....in which I walked along so often and in which I took several images during the time I was living here...
The film was expired and you can tell on the spots in the images but I thought it looks funny especially when you look at them all together in a row...I like how the spots somehow frame the image....

How are you today? Hope you are all enjoying your Sunday...

New

I got new glasses on Monday
I got new glasses on Monday.
After 3 years wearing the old ones every single day it is a bit weird to
see these new frames now sitting on my nose when I look into the mirror. I like them a lot though but I guess I need some time to get used to them...

Speaking of old and new things...It is my last week here in Hamburg and we are packing everything together right now. There are bags and boxes standing everywhere. It is a bit a weird feeling...I guess I am just not good with farewells..

I am going out to have a lovely dinner with dear friends tonight....

Hope you are all well..

Oh it was a warm weekend here in Hamburg. It reached 35° but felt actually a lot hotter..
We were having friends over for a little birthday & farewell-party and just had a great summer night with good food, drinks, music and most of all lovely people. I realized this morning that I didn't took one picture of this night which is a shame...but than again it was just better to spend the time with our guests chatting and laughing...

Today we were cleaning and resting indoors as it was just too hot to do anything outdoors (I wonder how I should survive an Australian summer ; )
We made a really nice, fresh dinner which could be my favourite Summer dinner...

#1 A quick lunch on Saturday between preparing the party
#2 Sun on my feet
#3 Yellow birthday flowers of my friend and flatmate
#4 Resting
#5 I really like this plant and I think it flowers even look like a butterfly
#6/7 We got fresh squash and broad beans at the farmers market yesterday morning
#8 I love podding the beans.
#9 A squash, broad bean salad with rocket on a lemon dressing with mint
#10/11 we had them with potatoes from my parents place, such a fresh Summer dinner.
