Here are a few images from my last two days.

#1-4 I was out for a walk in Elizabeth Bay - saw a great house wearing a 'green eyemask' and a cobweb which looked like it was lots of work:) Walking there I stumbled over a nice wooden chair, standing there with all sorts of other stuff ready to end up in the trash. I took it with me, cleaned it, oiled the wood and put new fabric on it. I already love it.

# 5/6 I also wanted to show you two of the little bags I made for friends. They are so easy to make and it is so much fun to put fabric together and sew it.

# 7/8 I like how those two images sort of fit together. They look so much like Spring. The rich green, brown and light pink. I saw this tree full with berries today, the berries will turn darker and you can actually eat them. You just need to be faster than the birds.

9-12 A few more shots I took around Surry Hills. If you are in Sydney, make sure you have a coffee at Single Origin. They roast their own beens and you can really taste it. Such good coffee.

#13 A snack I just made. I am trying to track down a store here at which you could actually buy goat cheese with a rind.

How are you this week?

Coincidence

IMG_5102

Thank you so much for all your great comments on my last post. I was thinking of starting a little Aussie vocabulary book to write down all those words which are shortened here ; )

Well, but look at this coincidence I found on the weekend.
We had German friends visiting us over the weekend and they brought a few German magazines and newspapers with them (which I am "soaking" in right now).
While I flicked through the Neon magazine I thought at one of the articles, 'oh I know this picture from somewhere" and found it a little later again in the latest issue of the Frankie magazine. It is a great image taken by the Western Australian photographer Jackson Eaton, so I can totally understand why those two great magazines used it...

I hope you had a good start into the week.
I will show you soon a few images I took during the weekend, while being on some touristic exploring trips here in Sydney ;)

There is a bunch of streets here in Hamburg which I always liked. Especially one street I am fond of ever since I have been there the very first time.
It has so much charm this cobbled street with its beautiful trees -- which seem like they are dead in Autumn and Winter...but oh wait for Spring...they are just stunning..
The houses are tall and beautiful but the street is still wide enough that they all get enough light...Some of the houses have stairs in front of them and the people who live there have wild little flower patches in front of their houses...and it just seems very quiet there...like an oasis...
It is not a long street but it could take me some time to walk through..as I look up and love to see details and stop here and there..
When I was looking for an apartment a year ago I remember how eager I was to find a flat there...but I couldn't..
I still like it there..and every now and than like today I walk along there and just enjoy it...
And today I even found a book there...lying in a box which had a sign "for free"... A good street....didn't I say it : )

Growing

Sometimes there are small things which really fascinate me.
Like this pot with a hyacinth I got a few weeks ago. In the first days I thought there will never come anything out at all as it was not showing any little bud or any move. I was really caring and gave it enough water and put a little string around the leaves that they can't fall over when they get bigger...And finally after a while it started growing and growing. I was sitting in front of it sometimes and hoped I could maybe once see how a bud opens and shows it nice blue-lilac-ish blossom..
Speaking of growing, I stumpled over this cute movie trailer today and thought I should share it. A documentary about the first year of four babies from all around the world. Sufjan Stevens in the background and really beautiful scenes in the trailer are pretty convincing..
Don't you think?
