Here are a few images from my last two days.

#1-4 I was out for a walk in Elizabeth Bay - saw a great house wearing a 'green eyemask' and a cobweb which looked like it was lots of work:) Walking there I stumbled over a nice wooden chair, standing there with all sorts of other stuff ready to end up in the trash. I took it with me, cleaned it, oiled the wood and put new fabric on it. I already love it.

# 5/6 I also wanted to show you two of the little bags I made for friends. They are so easy to make and it is so much fun to put fabric together and sew it.

# 7/8 I like how those two images sort of fit together. They look so much like Spring. The rich green, brown and light pink. I saw this tree full with berries today, the berries will turn darker and you can actually eat them. You just need to be faster than the birds.

9-12 A few more shots I took around Surry Hills. If you are in Sydney, make sure you have a coffee at Single Origin. They roast their own beens and you can really taste it. Such good coffee.

#13 A snack I just made. I am trying to track down a store here at which you could actually buy goat cheese with a rind.

How are you this week?

Since I got my sewing machine the other week I have got so many ideas and projects in my mind and sketchbook I would like to make over the next weeks.
I have always loved patterns in all their forms and I have especially always been very much fond of triangles. You see them all over the blog-world like on Mette's great blog or in Malin's shop.

Inspired by them I tried this weekend to sew my very first triangle pillow case. It was quiet tricky at some points but I am happy with the result and I am glad that I tried to make it.
It is such a great feeling to hold something in your hands made by you.

Have you tried something out lately you always wanted to do?

A letter...

The first of September. A new month.
You can feel that the season is changing and that Spring is coming along here that time is going by...

A new month also means to me that I am allowed to fill up again my personal calendar.
Before I left Hamburg I got a box from my friends with twelve envelopes, each filled with pictures. On the first day of a new month I can open one of these envelopes and find an image for every week of this month. I love this calendar and I unpacked already a few images which I totally forgot about. They make me smile so much and miss my friends ....

Today was also the first day I used my new/old sewing machine for the first time.
It is a second-hand one in such great condition and I am so happy about it as I couldn't bring mine with me. I was already fabric shopping and got some nice leftovers of which I am planning to sew a few nice things which I have in my head since a while : )
Today I sort of made friends with the sewing machine, read the manual and got used to the new handling. It has so many great programs, I can't wait to use it properly..I sewed this little envelopes for my grandparents which I will bring on its big journey tomorrow.

Here is a nice song liiiiiisten (Villagers - Becoming A Jackal)

Jumper love

The growing project
two left two right

My mum used to work in a wool shop back in the days and knitted many of the jumpers my brother and I wore when we were little. She also knitted jumpers on commission for people who couldn't knit and in the late evenings when she had some time left she was working on a few cardigans and jumpers for herself. She kept all of them in a closet up in the attic and last weekend when I have been at home I was looking through this closet and found those two jumpers she made when she was my age or even younger...I couldn't believe how great they are, the colours, the patterns, their condition - thinking that they are already 20 years old...I was wondering how long it must have taken her to knit them and also how great it is to make something like this which lasts so long.
She asked me if I would like to have them and I took them up with me to Hamburg and really love to wear them especially as it is so cold and snowy outside. I think it is great to get things passed on. It has such a great worth to me and I am proud when people ask me were I got them from and I can say my mom made them...

In the meanwhile I am still sitting here on my little scarf knitting project which is not really comparable with the things my mum knitted to this time..but I try and maybe one day I can pass it on too which I can imagine must be a nice feeling too...

A little sewing here and there..

A little sewing here and there...
A little sewing here and there...

A made this pair of coffs out of a jersey scarf for a friend's birthday the other week. She loves
cats...and so she got a little kitty to take care off ...

I plan on seeing this movie on the weekend. I already saw "Paris je t'aime" and liked it a lot especially the story with Natalie Portmann directed by Tom Tykwer ....
...Oh and how great is just "1901" from Phoenix in the trailer below...

A warm-not-too-icy Wednesday to everyone...

little sewing project III

Sewing project III

Sewing project III

A few weeks ago I did some more little sewing projects. A tote bag for a friends birthday and a few key rings for Christmas...It's great to make little presents by myself and see how people like it...

I also have been on a little 'field trip' to my local fabric supplier "Frau Tulpe" I got a nice red cord fabric and this lovely one. I hope I find the time on the weekend to sew a nice cushion for my desk chair.
