A couple of months ago I got a voucher for a sewing class as a birthday gift from friends. The new courses are just about to start in June and I couldn't find a weekend so I had another idea how to use the voucher for:
A patisserie course at one of my favourite café Herr Max. : )

On Tuesday night at 8pm after the cafè has closed a couple of other women packed with aprons catched up there to check out the back of the cafè where they create all those wonderful cakes, tartes and pralines.
We learned lots of tricks and made the most wonderful joghurt-strawbery-basil cake, a caramel sauce and white chocolate pralines with a sugar-lemon or sugar-mint cover.
I can't wait to try out the recipes we got from them.

A lovely Thursday....get some cake and have a nice tea : )

Like I already wrote once. I love Fridays evenings. They are the best.
It is something I look forward to the whole week.
And how nice is it to get picked up from work to stroll a bit through the city enjoy the first walk via the christmas market and a have a nice dinner afterwards.
We had an amazing dessert again. An almond tarte with rum fruits and honey icecream. They had pretty nice wallpaper in the washrooms there and I couldn't resist taking a picture : )
On our way home we passed this pretty nice shop in which they sell really great kitchen tools...

I did some more crafting on little projects this morning and we biked to the lovely café Herr Max in the afternoon to have a nice coffee and to read a bit. It is so cozy there and the cakes are sooo delicious too. The bakery is in the back of the café and you can see how Herr Max makes all the cakes...The cafè used to be a butcher and they kept the old tiles on the walls which I think are just the i-dot on this lovely place. You should go when you have the chance to come to Hamburg and also have a look at they nice drawings they sell there from: www.frauendermeere.de.

Oh by the way there is this amazing sewing magazine, called CUT which is out since this year. They will have an Advent calendar on their blog giving you every day tips what you could get or craft for the beloved onse for Christmas. When you need ideas just have a look and it seems the lovely ladies from Munich will even give out sewing patterns.

A lovely weekend to everyone

Mutterland

Mutterland

Mutterland

Mutterland packaging

I had a coffee at this place called "Mutterland" (Motherland) here in Hamburg the other day. It is a really nice café and a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city as it is really central....You can have typically German lunch like warm potatoe salad with meatballs or shop at their deli where you can buy all sorts of local German delicacies, like mustard in those amazing old stone jars, handmade caramel with rosemary flavour but also organic tea or bread and self-made cakes or bonbons...and so many other things.... Every time I come into Mutterland I just don't know where to look first : )
I also really like how they wrap gifts for you. They have different stamps they put on little red patches and you can decide which one you would like to have sewn on your package...It is a great idea...and I was thinking to maybe copy it for Christmas and try to do this with my sewing machine...let's see which needle I could use for this...

I hope you are having a nice week

Café

Cafè Zeitraum, originally uploaded by schorlemädchen.

Thursday nights are great nights.
They make me think what I could do on the weekend and it makes me happy that it is practically weekend....
Spending time in cozy Cafés is something I like...just reading the paper or in a book when you are there by your own. Or sitting there with friends having a great time....like yesterday after a cold and grey day.

Weekend it will be nice to spend you : )
