Early morning by the sea

A Saturday morning swimA Saturday morning swimA Saturday morning swimA Saturday morning swimA Saturday morning swimA Saturday morning swim

Last Saturday we woke up early & got up straight away, put on our swimming stuff, brushed our teeth and left the house with wild hair and towels underneath our arms to go for a swim. We don't have a car but have signed up for one of these care sharing things a few weeks back and it is so nice to have a bit more flexibility and to being able to go for a swim just like that. It was early and a cloudy yet a warm Saturday morning. We got a paper for Will on the way and I brought my camera with me. We were sitting by the pool for a little while reading and watching the sea and a group of elderly men and women while they went for their morning swim ...There were not so many people there yet and it was so quiet and peaceful and such a nice mood...

It is officially Autumn but the days are still quite warm and the ocean is still 'carrying' some of the heat of the last weeks of Summer in it so we are trying to go for a few more swims before it gets to cold. I love the feeling of going slowly into the water and to feel the fresh salty sea water all over me when I (eventually) dive in.

We have been to this ocean pool  so many times during the year and it is different ever single time we go. It never gets boring to see how much joy it gives people to swim there.

March - rain in Sydney

A rainy day
A rainy day
A rainy day
A rainy day

It is officially Autumn now here in Sydney and the first two days we already had rain.

I don't mind the rain. I like the change and enjoy it a lot also because the city seems so incredibly green especially when it is raining. I was going for walks yesterday and had the camera with me so I will hopefully be able to show you some rainy day photos.

Here are some photos from a rainy day some weeks back.

You can also find some photos from my walk yesterday on my instagram feed.

I took these photos on my way to the Finders Keepers market last Saturday. I love the light on a rainy day when the grey sky is not giving much light but still there are some colors popping up here and there....

Thank you so much for your comments on my last post...it is still rainy and
I made a nice potato-leek soup with a friend yesterday to keep warm after a very windy and rainy day.

Getting the tea ready now ....

A week of jet lag. I am glad I am slowly getting back into the normal rhythm here. Today was the most beautiful Autumn day, the light was simply incredible....

The Vivid Life festival is happening here in Sydney and the city is illuminated in the evenings and wonderful acts are playing at the Opera House. I saw Florence Welch singing with a symphonic orchestra last night and it was magical.

#1 Early on a Monday morning I went up to the roof top to watch the sun rise

It is sometimes a weekend routine which allows me to let the stress of a week go. Waking up early going for a run or walk, enjoying the day and the small things of it....

I adore the pictures of the latest Kinfolk lunch in San Francisco, it makes me dream of having such an event in Sydney one day....

Bourke Street Bakery - again :)

It is a sunny Sunday morning here in Sydney.
I picked up a new roll of film on Friday....I hope you enjoy the Autumn colors as much as I do. The light, the shapes, the browns, the changing leaves and different kinds of green. It is my favorite season....I love the the blue skies and the crisp air, wool tights and jumpers, warm soups...Before I moved here I would have never thought to live my Autumn love here, but I can :)

A Saturday

My Saturday didn't start like I thought it would be. Standing in the bathroom and suddenly hearing loud drops coming down from the ceiling made me wondering "what it this sound"...and all I thought was ...pipe burst!

I had so many things in my head I wanted to do today, like going to the farmers market, having a nice breakfast while reading the paper and enjoying the sun and going to the fabric market...but well it is not always like you think ...And it turned out our neighbours upstairs had a leak anywhere in their bathroom...
I went to the farmers market while the plumber was on its way...and realized at home I forgot my apples at any stall there...and after everything was fixed I could finally go the fabric market which took place here this Saturday.
It was funny to see how all women who left the subway were walking into one direction ...getting faster and faster...The fabric market was amazing, so many zippers, meters of all kind of fabrics, knobs, yarns, sewing machines and women.
I got myself some nice fabric which l'll sew some christmas gifts with....oh and I also got the apples back : )

Happy pipe-burst-less weekend : )
