Perth - WA

Perth WA // Schorlemädchen Perth WA // SchorlemädchenPerth WA // SchorlemädchenPerth WA // SchorlemädchenPerth WA // SchorlemädchenPerth WA // Schorlemädchen

After surviving the long flight from Germany to Australia we couldn't wait for our first morning walk at the beach. Will's parents don't live far away from Port Beach in Fremantle and go every morning at 6am for a walk to start their day. It is such a wonderful ritual and there are so many people already up doing their exercise at the beach or just come down to have a cup of tea with a mate and a good chat. There is always a wonderful atmosphere not only thanks to the beauty of the ocean itself.
We took Matilda in the 'Kraxe' backpack with us and she really enjoyed her time (even had a nap at the end in there.
I can feel the warmth on my face while looking at these photos and the softness of the sand between my toes, oh and the light, the beautiful light there ..

All Day Donuts // Melbourne

Allday Donuts // Schorlemaedchen

Last time I was in Melbourne, my friend and I had to check out All Day Donuts (just before we went to Mr Kitly). Let me tell you that those donuts are really as good as they look. I am dreaming of them ever since I've been there.

We just booked a trip back to Australia in European Winter for five weeks and I will make sure to have a little stop over there :)

Mr Kitly is one of my favourite stores in Melbourne. If you have a chance to go, please do, its so worth it. They have such an amazingly curated space with beautiful things for your home and also regular exhibitions.

Last day in Byron Bay

Byron BayByron BayByron BayByron BayByron BayByron Bay

On our last day in Byron Bay we had it was grey and overcast, which didn't stop people going for their surfs, swims or walks at the beach. I enjoyed how different the beach looked when it was not a blue and sunny sky.

At the beach

Byron BayByron BayByron BayByron Bay Summer has arrived in Europe and we spent the last two weeks in Copenhagen and Berlin. Will's parents are visiting and we took them two both places which were also Matilda's first trips. She has been an amazing travel companion. While the photos still on the roll of film and not developed yet you will get to see a few more snaps from our trip to Byron Bay last year. Hope you are well!

More Byron Bay

Byron BayByron BayByron BayByron BayByron Bay

In the last weeks (while becoming and being a mum) there hasn't been much time for taking photos of my life here. When I get a few minutes I sometimes scroll through the posts of this blog of the last years or photos on my computer and travel back in time. Its nice to remember moments like those few days in Byron Bay. The warm sun on the skin, sleeps at the beach, finishing a book...The photos help me to travel there within my little daydreams I have at the moment and I hope they help you and your mind to travel a little bit as well.  :)

Byron Bay

Byron BayByron BayByron BayByron BayByron Bay

In November last year we went for a long weekend up to Byron Bay. In our five years living in Sydney we always wanted to go and I am glad we did before our move. It is such a wonderful and peaceful place. The people are so incredibly relaxed. Well, it seems pretty easy if you live there. It is just so stunning, the beaches, the great food, the green and lush hinterland.

We rented a little studio from which we could hear the sound of the ocean. It was so peaceful and we slept so well. There are so many great places to eat in Byron Bay and we tried to try a few of them. I realized I didn't take one photo of the food we had, believe me, it was great, very fresh and healthy.

From the market

market haulmarket haulmarket haulmarket haul

These pictures are from a Saturday morning in Sydney a few months back. Our Saturdays back then were so different compare to those these days. We would wake up early, go to the markets, have a coffee, sometimes breakfast at our local cafe, read a book or in the paper and plan the weekend. Back home we would wash and the get the fruit and veggie ready to be stored. So much has changed since then.
Since Matilda is here so many of our routines have changed but somehow quiet a few have remained similar. In the last weeks of getting to know each other we also tried to find out how to go/adjust with/to her flow but also how we could introduce her to some of our little routines. These days we have to be a bit more organized but we still try to all go together to the markets on Saturday morning, sometimes we manage to grab a coffee together and meet up with friends for a nice chat and often go for long walks around the neighbourhood. And sometimes none of these things work out and we just all hang out together on the couch or in bed, which is also quiet nice.

Pool time with friends I

Pool time with friendsPool time with friendsPool time with friendsPool time with friendsPool time with friends

I have written many times about one of my favourite spots in Sydney: Wylies Baths.

And so it was no surprise that we tried to go and swim in the pool and hangout out there a bit before we left Sydney. One hot Saturday morning, we went with our great friends Mel and Polo. We found a nice corner in the shade and spent a few hours, chatting, reading & refreshing in the pool.

It's those days I think of a lot.
