Sufjan

Sufjan Stevens at the Sydney Opera House
Sufjan Stevens at the Sydney Opera House

Oh Sufjan.
I am so glad I got my hands on tickets for the Sufjan Stevens show at the Sydney Opera House last Friday. It was mind-blowing. Amazing. I really loved every second of it. Not just that the wonderful Owen Pallett played as suport-act, but the whole atmosphere in the opera house was just full of excitement and it was so great to hear his new songs live, especially Impossible Soul, I was blown away...The funny thing was that Will also got his hands on tickets (we both wanted to surprise each other) and so we saw him on Thursday and Friday. Well, if you have the chance to see him, please go, it is so worth it. so worth it. I felt like a little kid when the last song he played was Chicago and when the first seconds of the song started and suddenly all the ballons came down from the ceiling, it was magic.

Thank you so much for all wonderful comments on my last post

Here are a couple of images, which I took yesterday and today. There is so much colour around here, it is wonderful.

Like I told you last week, I wanted to do something nice with the lavender I got at the farmers market. Well, the blossoms dried very quickly and today I started to sew little bags and filled the dry lavender blossoms in them. Maybe you know that such bags are great to put in the closet to keep clothes moths away but I also saw another nice way to use them. You can actually put your hot teapot on the little bag and the heat of the water brings up the wonderful smell of lavender...If you like the smell of lavender try it out...it is so easy to make and looks nice, too..

For everyone in Europe, I think these are quiet exciting news :)

Have a great start in the new week. I am quiet excited, because we will see Sufjan Stevens on Thursday and Friday at the Opera House.

Hi everyone,
I hope you are having a lovely weekend....

#1 We got up early on Saturday morning and went to the Eveleigh Farmers Market in Redfern - i
#2 The markets are next to the heritage listed Eveleigh Railyards
#3/4 it is a wonderful market with over 80 stalls offering amazing vegetables, fruits, breads, flowers and all sorts of other things. It is also a great mixture of people, who go there an it is just fun to stroll around, try some goats cheese here or drink some fresh juice there. Just wonderful to start a Saturday.
#5 I got those wonderful flowers and I look at them right now. They are so exotic to me. Just like many other plants I see and smell here in Australia
#6 After we we came back we had a nice coffee and were reading in our newspapers. I got a German one of a friend the other day, which I was very excited about to read
#7/8/9 Later I took the Lavendar I got at the markets and made little bundles, which I put up to let them dry. I a couple of weeks I will get the dry blossoms and start a little project with them :^)

It was a very humid week this week here in Sydney and on Tuesday I decided to get my hair cut shorts again. I always used to have short hair but I started to let it grow since mid 2009. Now they are short again and I am quiet happy with it. I have the feeling I am just a short-hair girl :^)

Hope you are all well

Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments on my last post and all your nice wishes for the new year.
It was so good to go through all the images I took during the last year, to remember many moments and also realise that all the changes, actually really happened.

Here are a few images from my last Saturday. It was a very hot Summer day and pretty humid, too.. We visited the markets and made a wonderful cous cous salad with all the fresh veggies we got there. I will take an image next time we make one again. We also added lots of fresh herbs, it was wonderful.
Oh and look, after I (finally) finished my long-time knitting project I started a new one, this time I am using the perl pattern. It is wonderful to see it growing.

Have a great week,
Maria
